Each spring, the Wyomissing community comes together for one of its most meaningful traditions — our annual Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony at Wyomissing Hills Memorial Park & Playground. This special event is dedicated to honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
The day begins with a patriotic parade bringing neighbors, families, community groups, and local organizations together in a shared show of gratitude and respect. Following the parade, a Memorial Service will take place at the memorial, offering a quiet and reflective moment to remember those who served and gave their lives for our freedoms.
Residents are encouraged to display the American flag throughout Memorial Day Weekend as a visible sign of remembrance and appreciation. Community participation is a cornerstone of this event — families are welcome, and children are invited to join the parade with decorated bikes, scooters, or wagons.
After the ceremony, attendees are invited to remain in the park, spend time with neighbors, and continue this long-standing Wyomissing tradition of remembrance, unity, and community pride.
Those interested in participating in the parade may contact Randy McKinley at rmckinley@wyomissingboro.org for details.
If needed, we've set the Monday, May 25th as the rain date.
