Get ready for one of Wyomissing’s most exciting and heartwarming spring traditions—the annual Trout Fishing Rodeo returns on Saturday, May 9th!
This isn’t just a fishing event… it’s a rite of passage. Since 1973, families have gathered along the scenic Wyomissing Creek to welcome spring, share laughs, and pass down the timeless joy of fishing from one generation to the next. There’s nothing quite like watching moms and dads teaching their kids how to cast a line, celebrate that first catch, and maybe even tell a few “big fish” stories along the way.
And this year, we’re making it even better—over 1,300 trout will be stocked in the creek, giving our young anglers plenty of opportunities to reel one in!
Registration opens at 8:30 AM, with fishing starting promptly at 9:00 AM. After a fun-filled morning along the creek, everyone will gather on the Stone House Lawn for the awards ceremony at 11:30 AM, where we’ll celebrate the day’s catches and memories.
The tradition continues thanks to the legacy of Joseph A. Miller, whose vision helped create the 8 to 80 Wyomissing Fishing Club and launch this beloved event. In his honor, registered participants will be entered into drawings for the “Joseph A. Miller Participation Prizes.”
Want to sharpen your skills before the big day? Our friends at TCO Fly Fishing will be hosting a free fly fishing clinic for kids on Friday evening at 5:00 PM at the Wall—a perfect way to get ready to land that prize-winning trout!
Open to children under 15, the Trout Fishing Rodeo is more than just fishing—it’s about family, tradition, and making memories that last a lifetime.
Bring your own bait, bring your sense of adventure, and we’ll see you at the creek!
