TOUCH A TRUCK Community Event - Touch A Truck Community Event
A Day of Discovery and Delight
What is it about trucks that capture the imagination? The flashing lights of a police cruiser, the towering ladder of a fire truck, the sheer power of a snowplow—each one ignites a sense of wonder in kids and grown-ups alike. This spring, the Borough of Wyomissing invites you to experience that magic firsthand at our first annual Touch A Truck Community Event. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Wyomissing Hills Memorial Park & Playground on Saturday, May 30st, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM, this event promises a day of excitement, exploration, and discovery.
From the heroic vehicles of the Police and Fire Departments to the unsung machines that keep our town running smoothly, attendees will have the chance to get up close and personal with an incredible lineup. Picture your child’s eyes lighting up as they sit in the driver’s seat of a police vehicle or inspect the intricate gadgets of a fire truck. Imagine the thrill of climbing aboard a gleaming fire engine or learning how a street sweeper keeps our roads spotless. The Public Works Department will showcase their fleet of snowplows, tree-cutting machines, and more, giving a glimpse into the essential work that often goes unseen.
Adding to the excitement, local construction companies will roll in with their heavy-duty marvels, including concrete mixers, front-end loaders, and other awe-inspiring equipment. Even the military will bring their specialized vehicles, providing a unique opportunity to appreciate the craftsmanship and ingenuity behind their design. And it’s not just about the kids—adults will find themselves just as fascinated, with plenty of “so that’s how that works” moments as they talk to the professionals behind the wheels.

As your children embark on this adventure, they’ll not only learn new skills but also build confidence and form lasting friendships.Children enrolled in the Tot Lot Program must be 5 years old by February 1, 2026, and must have successfully completed a kindergarten program by June 1, 2026. Tot Lot is designed specifically for children ages 5 to 6 and requires kindergarten completion prior to the start of the program. Wyomissing Summer Playground Program 2026 - Hills Playground-MORNING
Welcome to the Wyomissing Summer Playground Program – where the spirit of summer comes alive. With a dynamic and engaging setting, the program is designed to get your children out of the house, active, and immersed in a world of fun and excitement. Our program is crafted with the goal of enriching the physical and social development of our youngsters, ensuring a safe, supervised environment, and delivering age-appropriate activities during specified playground hours.At the heart of our Summer Playground Program is a dedicated staff committed to creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants. As your children embark on this adventure, they’ll not only learn new skills but also build confidence and form lasting friendships.Children enrolled in the Tot Lot Program must be 5 years old by February 1, 2026, and must have successfully completed a kindergarten program by June 1, 2026. Tot Lot is designed specifically for children ages 5 to 6 and requires kindergarten completion prior to the start of the program. There are no exceptions to these requirements, as they are governed by Pennsylvania Department of Human Services regulations for playground programs.
