Explore the Cosmos with Stargazing in the Parklands – A Year-Round Four-Part Series from the Borough of Wyomissing’s Department of Recreation and the Berks County Amateur Astronomical Society
Wyomissing, PA – The Borough of Wyomissing's Department of Recreation is delighted to announce a captivating celestial event in collaboration with the Berks County Amateur Astronomical Society. Prepare to be mesmerized as the Parklands of Wyomissing Borough host the first of a four-part series, "Stargazing in the Parklands," on Friday, February 23rd, starting at 6:30 pm.
Stargazing enthusiasts and curious minds alike are invited to indulge in the wonders of the night sky. Defined as the hobby of looking up at the stars and celestial objects, stargazing is an activity that transcends age and background, offering a unique way to explore the vastness of the universe.
The Parklands, with its unobstructed views and minimal light pollution, provides an exceptional backdrop for this celestial experience. As the sky unfolds its mesmerizing spectacle, participants will have the opportunity to spot constellations, planets, and even witness the majesty of the Milky Way. Stargazing is not just an activity; it's a journey into the beauty of the universe, providing a sense of relaxation and awe.
The event will feature the expertise of the Berks County Amateur Astronomical Society, who will bring telescopes to enhance the stargazing experience. This collaboration ensures that attendees will have the opportunity to explore the night sky with guidance from seasoned astronomers.

Please note: The first event in this series may be chilly, so attendees are advised to dress warmly. Bringing chairs and/ or blankets is recommended for added comfort. Additionally, it is suggested to bring a red-light flashlight for visibility purposes.
