Witches, Ghosts, and Goblins - Oh My!

September 27th, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Witches, Ghosts, and Goblins—Oh My!  Wyomissing's Spooky Hollow Halloween Carnival Returns, and the Competition Gets Wicked!

Wyomissing, PA — Gather your broomsticks and dust off your spell books, because the Borough of Wyomissing is about to be hit with a magical wave of Halloween excitement! On Saturday, October 19th, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, the Happy Hollow Playground will be transformed into the eerily delightful world of “Spooky Hollow” for our much-anticipated annual Halloween Carnival. This year, we’re brewing up so much excitement that we’ve extended the carnival by an extra hour!  And, just in case… we’ve set a rain date for the following day, Sunday – October 20th.
Brace yourselves for an afternoon packed with spooky, family-friendly fun that’s so enchanting, even the Sanderson Sisters would be jealous.

Spooky Hollow: The Halloween Carnival That’ll Leave You Spellbound

Are you ready for a Halloween experience so thrilling it’ll make your cobwebs tingle? The Spooky Hollow Halloween Carnival promises a cauldron full of delights for every ghost, goblin, and parent just trying to survive until bedtime. Expect everything from carnival skill games and crafts to enough candy to fuel a small sugar-induced witch coven. Plus, we’re talking face painting, a pumpkin ring toss, an inflatable obstacle course, balloon bending, photo booth, and a wandering magician who may or may not pull a rabbit out of his hat.

We’re hosting a Halloween Costume Contest throughout the carnival, and we’ll be wandering about, checking out the best and most creative outfits! We’ve got prizes for the best-of-the-best, so whether you’re dressed as a classic witch, a spooky ghost, or something totally out of this world, come show off your Halloween spirit!

And if that’s not enough to have your broomstick hovering, we’ve got a spooktacular showing of Hocus Pocus on the softball field after the carnival. Yes, you heard that right—the Sanderson Sisters are flying in to entertain you and your loved ones as the sun sets and the Halloween spirit rises.

Did we mention the whole event is FREE? Yep, that’s right—zero dollars for all this spine-tingling fun!

While you’re embracing the ghoulish ambiance, be sure to indulge in some pay-for food options that’ll make your taste buds scream with delight. Think of it as adding a savory spell to your Halloween experience. Whether you’re a KONA ICE or ISLAND NOODLES fan, we’ll have something you’ll like.

BOO’ing Season: The Halloween House Decorating Contest That’s Taking Over the Town

If your house doesn’t look like it could win "Best Haunted Mansion" on Zillow, what are you even doing? Our BOO’ing Halloween House Decorating Contest is the perfect chance to flex your eerie creativity. From October 1st through the 27th, we’ll be lurking in the shadows to find the best-decorated homes in Wyomissing. Whether your theme is ghosts, goblins, or a radioactive meltdown gone wrong, it’s time to start sketching out your master plan.

Think big, think bold, think, “How can I make my neighbor jealous?”

We’re looking for the most chilling, creative, and downright spooky displays to award ultimate Halloween bragging rights and prizes. So, whether you’re aiming for the “Hocus Pocus” vibe or full-on “Nightmare on Elm Street,” start your prep now and prepare to terrify the competition!

Join Us—If You Dare!

Mark your calendars, because Wyomissing’s Halloween Season is shaping up to be one for the books... Spell Books that is.  The Spooky Hollow Halloween Carnival is coming on October 19th, and BOO’ing Season is in full swing from October 1st to 27th. If you’re looking for laughter, scares, and enough candy to power a small village of werewolves, you know where to be.
